Backpacking Around Cairns Cape Tribulation02

Backpacking Around Cairns & Cape Tribulation

This was one of the most amazing parts of Queensland, it’s just beautiful and so much to do.

We stayed at the Cairns Central YHA and Cape Tribulation Beach House. The Cairns YHA was right in the middle of town and made exploring the city easy. We loved hanging out around the tropical pool and gardens at the Hostel.

The Cape Tribulation Beach Houses were little bungalows right next to the beach and the rainforest and made it feel like we were on a real adventure. It’s so cool to stay in a place where this beautiful rainforest meets the sea.

We did something new every day and made sure we went diving and snorkeling on the Great Reef Barrier Reef. We travelled on a catamaran which holds only a few people and takes more than 2 hours. You can really see why the Great Barrier Reef is so famous; it was an experience we will always remember.

We saw wild crocodiles and snakes on the Daintree Cruise along the Daintree River. For only $25 you spend an hour on the boat and travel through the rainforest. There was so much wildlife to see.

If we ever visit this area again we plan to hire a 4WD and explore more at Cape Tribulation as it was a very beautiful and wild part of Queensland.

We also loved the Kuranda Original Rainforest Markets which were in the middle of the rainforest and had stalls with local artists, food, and gifts.
