Brisbane or Bris-Vegas as its known to the locals is a bustling city that offers all the usual city stuff but with a laid back Queensland style. Your City visit need not be too expensive either, with centrally located hostels and a huge range of free activities available daily there’s always heaps to do on a budget too.
Brisbane’s is also home to a cluster of subtropical island and are incredibly just 25kms from Brisbane’s City. From Bribie Island in the north to the Southern Bay Islands including Moreton and Strodbroke Island you can indulge in some of the world’s best diving, get adventurous with some sand boarding, surfing, quad biking or take a leisurely stroll along the water’s edge.

Queenslanders refer to our beloved capital as Bris Vegas. THE ISLANDS
Moreton and Stradbroke Island, offer crystal clear water, jam packed adventure and picturesque sandy beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see. From June to November you can also see the mighty Humpback Whales as they migrate north but all year round Brisbane’s cluster of sandy islands offer a range of activities and cracking weather.
COUNTRY CITY
Just 1hr west of the CBD you’ll find yourself in Brisbane’s very own World Heritage Listed backyard. Home to lush rainforest, spectacular mountain ranges, ancient landforms, great food and wine, camp grounds, bushwalking, great country pubs, art galleries, history and adventures; all tied together by the landscape and the beautiful towns and villages dotted throughout.

If your looking for a place to get some great summer clothes Queen Street Mall is the place to shop and shop cheap! We recommend checking out the FREE shelf in your hostel 1st of course but if nothing takes your fancy pop your comfiest shoes on and get reading to shop until your drop, or at least until beer o’clock.
