Adventure Queensland Challange01

The Adventure Queensland Challange

Adventure Queensland challenged two travellers to backpack through our amazing state and blog about their experiences. They stayed in hostels, camped out, and stayed up all night. They visited islands, surfed a few waves, found beautiful waterholes, and visited some of our best kept secrets.

In this series of blogs, our French backpackers Virginie and Bastien share their top tips, the places they stayed and their adventures.

The Journey Begins

We had quite a journey through Queensland and in the space of seven weeks covered so much of the state. We loved how cool people were and had some once in a lifetime experiences.

One of our favourites things about Queensland was the relaxed culture. Everyone was so friendly and we loved exploring every place we went.

Backpacking accommodation is impressive in Queensland and we strongly recommend the YHA hostels. We stayed in a number of them and were never disappointed! They were always super clean, the staff were really nice and great fun.

It wouldn’t have been a genuine backpacking experience without some camping. We hired a car with camp tent on the roof, and it made for some awesome experiences. There were beautiful campsites along the way, and going to sleep under the stars was one of the most memorable parts of the journey.

Our next blog will be about our time in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, but we will close off with a video shared with us by another backpacker – it helped us to speak like an Aussie!
